Grants Assistant

A Bachelor of Science in Biostatistics graduate from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology with almost a year of experience assisting in research projects and over a year of experience working as a freelance data analyst. Monicah is currently interning at the Research and Innovation Office under the Grants division where she offers support to the grants team in the critical and timely delivery of grant funding by assisting in the operation, documentation, and updating of files and templates.

She has had the privilege of working in ICIPE under the Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, and Biostatistics Unit. Monicah leverages the experience gained working with this institution to offer support to the researchers in the team to deliver accurate results and meet deadlines. She is enthusiastic about research and is willing to contribute to current research activities through her affiliation with the Centre for Health Analytics and Disease Modelling (CHαM) under the Strathmore Institute of Mathematical Sciences. Monicah also believes in leveraging data to develop models that offer insights on disease burden and costing and determine preventive and control measures for current and future pandemics and epidemics.
